Luggage Compartment Lighting

The luggage compartment lighting is turned on/off when the boot lid is opened and closed respectively.

^ If the ignition is OFF (or key removed) and the lid is opened, the lighting will stay on for 20 minutes before turning off automatically.
^ If the ignition is ON (+15 or +54) and the lid is opened, the lighting will go on until the lid is closed again.

The power supply to the luggage compartment lighting is fed via a transistor in the DICE control module, which also monitors the function.

When the boot lid is opened, the light switch (56) in the lid closes. The switch is connected to the TWICE control module, which detects whether the lid is open or closed.

TWICE outputs information to the instrument bus (I-BUS) on whether the lid is open/closed, which DICE receives. If the lid is open, current is fed from pin 2 on DICE to the light.

When the ignition is ON, an open boot lid is indicated on the main instrument unit. The main instrument unit receives information to light the indicator from the bus.
