Interior Lighting

Interior Lighting

The car's general interior lighting (roof lamps, floor lighting, reading and mirror lighting, and courtesy lighting) has both an automatic and a manual function depending on the position of the interior lighting switch (1, 0 or 2). The switch is located in the roof and its positions have the following functions:
1 ^ Interior lighting on.
0 ^ Doors control lighting on/off (Automatic).
2 ^ Interior lighting off.

Automatic (position 0)
If the switch is in position 0, +30 voltage for the interior lighting is supplied to DICE on pin 24. When DICE receives information on the status of the ignition switch and the doors from TWICE on the bus, it detects the information and turns the interior lighting on or off. i.e. +30 voltage is supplied/not supplied from pins 1, 23 and 70 to the interior lighting.

Manual (position 1 or 2)
For the interior lighting, +30 voltage is supplied to the light switch through the control module.
If the switch is in position 1, all the interior lighting is powered via the switch.
If the switch is in position 2, no power is supplied to the interior lighting.

Important
Never use bulbs with the incorrect rating. All the lamp outputs have short-circuit protection and if bulbs with incorrect rating are used, the protection will not function correctly.
If the bulb rating is too high, the short-circuit protection will activate immediately and if it is too low it will not be activated at all.

Automatic (Position 0)

When the interior-lighting switch is in position 0 for automatic operation, the interior lighting goes on:

^ If the driver's door is unlocked with the key or remote control. The interior lighting will go on for 30 seconds if the ignition switch is in the OFF position (key removed).

^ If one or more of the doors is open when the ignition switch is in the OFF position (key removed), the interior lighting will go on for 20 minutes after which it will go out automatically.

^ If one or more doors are opened while the ignition switch is in the ON position (+15 or +54), the interior lighting will go on until all the doors have been shut.

The lighting is turned off as follows:

^ When all the doors have been closed, the interior lighting will stay on for 30 seconds as long as the interior lighting was on before the doors were closed. Otherwise, the interior lighting will stay off.

^ If the ignition is turned to ON (+15 or +54) while the interior lighting is on, it will immediately go out. The same will occur if the car is locked with the remote control or the key.

^ When the car key is removed from the ignition the interior lighting will go on for 30 seconds. The light will fade in (brightness increases) during the first 2 seconds.

^ When the interior lighting is time controlled, the light will always fade out during the last 4 seconds.
