Glove Box Lamp: Description and Operation

Glove Box Light

The glove box light is turned on/off when the glove box is opened and closed respectively.

^ If the ignition is OFF (or key removed) and the glove box opened, the light will stay on for 20 minutes before turning off automatically. The light will go on again if one of the doors is opened or if the ignition is turned ON.
^ If the ignition is ON (+15 or +54) and the glove box is opened, the light will stay on until the lid is closed again.

The power supply to the glove box light is common with that to the reading lights.
+30 current for the glove box light is always fed to pin 46 on the control module and fed from pin 70 to the glove box light. When the glove box is opened, a switch closes to ground and the lights go on.
