Engine Lubrication: Service and Repair

To remove
1. Raise the car and drain the engine oil.





2. Remove the cover.
3. Cut threads, using an M 10 (step 3) screw tap, in the end plate. Screw in an M10 bolt and pull out the bypass valve.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that no metal cuttings are left inside.

To fit





1. Oil the bypass valve and tap it home. Use a 15 mm drift.
2. Fit the cover with a new seal.
3. Lower the car and fill up with motor oil.
4. Start the engine and check for leakage.
