Diagnostic help
The tester can be used to activate the relay outputs concerned as well as low speed and high speed operation.
If no information on the coolant temperature is supplied, low speed operation will start.
Check the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multi meter, test lamp or diagnostic instrument while doing this.
Before changing a control module
It has been found from experience that the majority of control modules returned for warranty repairs are in perfect working order. In these cases, changing the control module has obviously not cured the fault. Go through the following points before changing the control module:

1. Check all grounding points and the power supply to the control module.
2. Using the diagnostic instrument, check that all readouts are plausible.
3. Using the diagnostic instrument, check that all activation commands produce the correct results.

4. If the fault persists, the control module must be replaced.
5. Before handling the control module, it is important to ground yourself by touching the engine, for example. Avoid touching the control module's pins.
