Upholstery fabric, seat cushion

To remove






1 Take the front seat out of the car, refer to "Front Seat Replacement". [1][2]Procedures
2 Manual front seat:
Remove the height adjustment lever and backrest adjustment knob.

Note: When removing the knob, note that the backrest rake spindle may be removed with the knob.

3 Remove the upper seat cowl, 2 covers and 3 screws. Lift the cowl at the back and pull forward.
For electrically adjustable front seats, remove the connector for the switch and any memory buttons.






4 Remove the lower seat cowl, 2 screws.
5 Remove the seatbelt mounting, 1 bolt.
6 Remove the plastic cover on each side of the backrest joint.
The plastic cover conceals the hole for access to the screws holding the seat at the rear.
7 Undo the seat cushion at the rear, 2 screws.






8 Undo the seat cushion at the front, 2 screws.
9 Undo the straps holding the backrest cover at the bottom.
10 Cut the cable tie. Unplug and mark the connector.
Remove the seat cushion.

Note: For ventilated seats, the seat must be raised at the front to release the fan motor from the seat frame.






11 Release the upholstery strip at the rear of the seat base.
12 Release the upholstery strip along the edges of the seat base.
13 Lift the seat base away from the foam cushion.
14 Unclip the seat cover from the foam cushion.
15 Remove the seat cover.

To fit






1 Fit the seat cover over the foam cushion.
2 Fit the clips using the pliers in fitting kit 84 71 062.
3 Lay the seat base on the foam cushion.
4 Replace the strip along the edge of the seat base.
Check that the cover fits correctly.






5 Position the seat and insert the screws in the front, but do not tighten.
6 Place the screws in the back of the seat cushion, 2 screws.
7 Tighten the screws in the front of the seat cushion.
8 Refit the plastic cover on each side of the backrest joint.






9 Reconnect the connector and attach a new cable tie.
10 Fasten the straps on the bottom of the backrest cover under the seat cushion.






11 Fit the seatbelt mounting, 1 bolt.
Tightening torque 33 Nm
12 Fit the lower seat cowl, 2 screws.






13 For electrically adjustable front seats, first connect the switch connector and any memory buttons to the upper seat cowl.
Refit the upper seat cowl by slipping this into the track provided and pressing the cowl down at the back.
Fasten the seat cowl, 3 screws and 2 caps.
14 Manual front seat:
Mount the height adjustment lever and backrest adjustment knob.

Note: If necessary, loosen the backrest trim to ensure that the backrest rake spindle is correctly positioned.

15 Refit the front seat into the car, refer to "Front Seat Replacement". [1][2]Procedures
