Motors
The diagrams illustrate a LHD car
Each mirror has two motors and two potentiometers. The potentiometers output information on the position of the mirrors to the PMM control module.
Current is supplied to the motors from the switch when manually selected or from the PMM control module when selected from memory.
The motors are driven by the PMM control module to the positions the door mirrors take according to the relevant memory setting. The PMM control module reads the positions of the door mirrors with the aid of the four potentiometers.
The position the mirrors take is determined by the PSM control module depending on which memory button (1, 2 or 3) was selected. Based on the information from the PSM control module, the PMM control module drives the motors to the correct positions.
The motors are driven one at a time by eight different combinations depending on the memory position to be taken. Each output on the PMM control module can be directed to B+ or ground.
The table below shows the status of the control module outputs for various motor operations.
Diagnostics
In the event of a fault in any of the motors, it will not be possible to operate it with the switch or memory setting.
If there is a fault in any of the potentiometers, a memory setting cannot be selected with the switch on the driver's seat.
