Outer Tailgate Handle, 5D

To remove







1 Undo the screws on the outside
2 Open the tailgate.
3 Remove the frame around the inner door handle by prising with a screwdriver in the three recesses. Once the frame clips have been released, pull the frame down and bend it out.







4 Remove the inner tailgate trim by removing the door pull retaining screws and the plastic clips in the trim.
5 Lift off the tailgate trim as described below:






a Pull down the top of the trim to release it from the clips.
b Pull back on the trim to release the guide pin at the door pull, taking care not to break it.
6 Remove both light clusters in the tailgate and the number plate where applicable.







7 Remove the nuts.
8 Remove the lock rod and unplug the connector.







9 Unsnap the clips and remove the look together with the number plate lighting.

To fit







1 Insert the wiring harness and lock arm into the lock opening.
2 Press on the handle and number plate lighting to the tailgate.
3 Screw in the screws on the outside.
4 Screw on the nuts.







5 Fit the lock rod and plug in the connector. Fit the connector into the holder.
6 Check the rubber seal and fit the light cluster to the tailgate. Fit the number plate if it was removed.
7 Plug in the connectors.
8 Fit the inner trim by inserting the clip at the door pull and fastening with the clips. Screw in the two door pull screws.







9 Fit the frame around the inner door handle.
