CD Player

The CD player in the Saab Audio System is front-feed. A display on the left of the CD slot lights when a disc is inserted. The disc drawer holds one CD (diam. 8 or 12 cm).

Function
The CD player is activated by the CD button on the main unit if a disc is in place or when a disc is inserted. If the disc is placed in the CD player and another source is selected, the CD player is activated automatically again after 10 seconds.

When the CD player is active, information is transmitted on the bus. The SID unit reads the information on the bus and shows the current setting on the display.

Control functions
1 Continuous play of CDs
2 Track select for direct selection of track, forwards/backwards.
3 Track select, fast play with sound, forwards/ backwards.
4 Random order of play with countdown.
5 Scan through tracks.
6 Eject disc
