Conditions
Charge Air Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Performance Problem.
Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Engine speed drops slower than normal when the accelerator is released.
On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.
Enable criteria:
- Crankshaft stationary, even after ignition OFF. Car stationary. The other two absolute pressure sensors deviate less than 10 kPa from each other.
Fault criteria:
- Sensor value deviates more than 15 kPa from atmosphere absolute pressure sensor.
Dependents:
- P0336 and P0337.
System reaction to a fault:
- Density compensation of the throttle angle is blocked. The charge air adaptation is blocked and zeroed, the atmospheric pressure sensor is used as a substitute value.
OK report:
- Fault criteria for P1106, P1107 or P1108 not fulfilled.
Fault handling: Fault Handling III, Other Emission-Related Comp. & Function
- Type III.
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns sensor fault.
Diagnostic tool functions related to this fault are:
- Pressure sensor reading, in kPa.
With the engine switched off, the reading should correspond with those of the other two pressure sensors. Permissible difference is 10 kPa.
