Transmission downshifting faulty





Fault Symptoms
CHECK GEARBOX warning lamp is on.

TCM in Limp-Home mode.

Conditions
In connection with downshifting, the input speed indicates a speed higher than:

225 km/hfor 3rd gear.

132 km/hfor 2nd gear.

76 km/hfor 1st gear.

Diagnostic Help
The symptoms indicate primarily a mechanical fault and it is improbable that it can be caused by a fault in the control system. Wear in the transmission may be the cause of abrupt shifting and an inoperative Lock-up function.
