Fault Conditions
P0332
Knock Sensor Circuit. Low Input, Bank 2
Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE.
- Limited torque.
On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
- Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.
Enable criteria:
- Engine running. Main relay voltage exceeding 11V. Coolant temperature exceeding 60°C.
Fault criteria:
- Knock voltage below 0.25V on sparking for 25 ignitions.
Dependents:
- P0116, P0117 and P0118.
System reaction to a fault:
- Knock signal set to 5V. In this way knock detection will take place continuously on all cylinders when under high load.
OK report:
- Enable criteria fulfilled. Fault criteria not fulfilled within 120 S.
Fault handling: See "Fault diagnosis, general" for more information.
- Type III.
Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns electrical faults in connecting cables or in the ignition discharge module.
Diagnostic tool functions related to this fault are:
- Knock sensor reading, in V.
See also the description of test values under "Fault diagnosis, general" for more information.
NOTE
The knock sensor is an internal ignition discharge module function. There is no external sensor.
Check the wiring
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuit in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
