Heating & Ventilation, A/C
B2360
A/C Pressure Sensor. Short to ground
A/C Pressure Sensor. Open circuit/short to B+
Fault symptoms
A/C system does not supply cold air.
Conditions
Shorting to ground is set if:
- pin 9 on the control module is shorting to ground
- the voltage is below normal measuring range.
Open circuit/short circuit is set if:
- pin 9 on the control module is shorting to B+
- the voltage is above normal measuring range.
Diagnostic help
The pressure in the A/C system can be read on the diagnostic tool.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Checking the sensor's power supply
- Unplug the connector: Pressure sensor A/C: (620).
- Turn the ignition key to ON
- Measure the voltage
- Red test lead: Pressure sensor A/C:B
- Black test lead: Battery: B-.
- Value should be 4.7V - 5.5V.
Is the function correct?
YES
- Go to step 2.
NO
- Check and rectify faulty lead between pin B on the female connector and pin 38 on the control module connector.
- Go to step 5.
2. Checking the sensor's ground connection
- Measure the voltage
- Red test lead: Pressure sensor A/C:A.
- Black test lead: Pressure sensor A/C:B.
- Value should be 4.7V - 5.5V.
Is the function correct?
YES
- Go to step 3.
NO
- Check and rectify faulty lead between pin A on the female connector and pin 54 on the control module connector.
- Go to step 5.
3. Checking the sensor input on the control module
- Turn the ignition key to ON
- Contact: DICE
- Connect a jumper lead between pin B and pin C on the female connector.
- Read value: A/C Pressure.
- Value should be 28 bar - 35 bar.
Is the function correct?
YES
- Go to step 4.
NO
- Check and rectify open circuit/short circuit to ground in lead between pin C on the female connector and pin 9 on the control module connector.
- Go to step 5.
4. Checking the sensor input on the control module (cont.)
- Connect a jumper lead between pin A and pin C in the female connector.
- Read value: A/C Pressure.
- Value should be 0 bar.
Is the function correct?
YES
- Replace: Pressure sensor A/C.
- Go to step 5.
NO
- Check and rectify open circuit/short circuit to B+ in lead between pin C on the female connector and pin 9 on the control module connector.
- Go to step 5.
5. Final check
- Delete diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.
- Carry out a function check.
- Evaluate the function check.
- Check that the diagnostic trouble code does not recur.
Does the diagnostic trouble code recur?
YES
- See "Before changing a control module." Before Changing a Control Module
NO
- The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
