Changing The Belt Tensioner




Changing the belt tensioner

To remove







1 Drape protective covers over the front wings and remove the shield over the intake manifold.
2 Remove the crankcase ventilation solenoid valve and constant pressure valve.
3 Relieve the tension on the belt tensioner with special tool 83 95 254 and remove the belt.

WARNING: Be careful not to knock the belt tensioner when it is in its end position.

4 Remove the belt tensioner with an 8 mm Allen key.

To fit







1 Fit the belt tensioner.
Tightening torque 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)
2 Fit the belt, check its position on all the pulleys and release the tension reliever so that the belt is tensioned.
3 Fit the crankcase ventilation valves.
4 Fit the shield over the intake manifold.
5 Start the engine and let it run at idling speed for a while.
6 Turn off the engine and check that the belt is positioned correctly.
