Radio, Popular

General
The radio section is an AM/FM receiver with PLL frequency synthesis for precise tuning (frequency lock).

The radio is available with or without RDS. RDS is included in the audio systems for cars on the EU market but not for other markets.

Operation
The antenna signal to the radio section is fed from the antenna amplifier via a coaxial cable and separate connector (HF-connector) to the main unit.

The radio is activated with the RADIO button on the main unit. When the radio has been activated, information is sent on the bus. The SID unit reads this bus information and displays the current settings.

Controls
1 Pre-tuned stations (1-6), for direct selection of pre-tuned stations.
2 Band selection, for selecting the frequency band (AM/FM).
3 Manual tuning, frequency up/down.
4 Automatic search for radio station, frequency up/down.
5 Automatic search with memory (AS) of the 6 strongest stations on the AM or FM band.
6 RDS On/Off.

Important: The service manual does not include normal handling of the audio system. Detailed information on handling can be found in the owner's manual.
