Mating Face

The gearbox has only two pairs of mating faces. The mating faces between the clutch housing and the gearcase are sealed with sealant and the mating faces between the gearcase and the end cover are sealed with a gasket. Ventilation and breathing are via a "labyrinth" in the upper part of the gearcase which also houses a filter (sintered compact) to keep out dirt and moisture.
