Procedure
Replace the shift lock solenoid using the following procedure:
1 Remove the gear selector lever housing.
Important
When working with a dismantled selector lever housing, be sure to protect it from damage by laying it on a soft surface, such as a clean shop rag or a piece of foam rubber.
2 Cut the table ties.
3 Remove the pins for the solenoid from the connector (pins 5 and 6 in the 6-pin connector and pin 2 in the 2-pin connector).
Note
Note the location of the 3 pins in the connector.
4 Drill out the rivets using a 3 mm drill bit.
5 Separate the upper and lower parts of the selector lever housing slightly at the front. Undo the screws on the solenoid.
6 Undo the lever on top of the solenoid and remove the solenoid.
To fit
1 Fit the solenoid to the lever.
2 Fit the solenoid's two screws.
3 Fit the two parts of the selector lever housing together.
4 Rivet the parts of the selector lever housing together.
5 Connect the leads on the solenoid.
6 Secure the leads with a cable tie.
7 Fit the selector lever housing.
