Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.

Cars already delivered must be rectified in connection with a scheduled visit to the garage for service or repairs.


Cars concerned

All Saab 9-3 3D/5D with Sports pack and spoiler as illustrated, M99 up to and including VIN X2082545 and X7054361.


Background

Water can enter through the holes for the rear spoiler and reach the rear window wiper motor. The water leak can make the wiper motor jam, causing noise or breakdown.

Procedure

1. Check whether the wiper engine is jamming and listen for any noise.
If it is jamming or noisy, the wiper motor must be changed. Changing the wiper motor should be done in connection with point 4 below.
2. Dismantle the wiper motor and rear spoiler. See WIS Body, Exterior, Spoiler, Sports pack 5D/3D.
3. Scrape off the old seals and clean the spoiler after removing it.
4. Fit the new seals and a new wiper motor if necessary. See WIS Body, Exterior, Spoiler, Sports pack 5D/3D.

Important Make sure the rear window wiper does not reach down to the spoiler when in its lowest position.
