Rear Shock Absorber


To remove





1. Cut out a flap in the luggage compartment carpeting to gain access to the damper's upper mounting.
2. Remove the nut, washer and bush from the damper's upper mounting point.
3. Raise the car and remove the rear wheel.
4. Remove the retaining bolt in the bumper's lower mounting. Lift out the damper.


To fit
1. Insert the damper's upper mounting through the hole in the body.





2. Tighten the retaining bolt in the damper's lower mounting, using a torque wrench.
Tightening torque 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.)
3. Replace the road wheel.
4. Lower the car to the floor.
5. Tighten the wheel bolts to the correct torque.
Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.)
6. Fit the bush, washer and nut on the upper mounting.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
7. Press the flap in the luggage compartment trim back into place and restore the luggage compartment to its original condition.
