Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair


To remove





1. Raise the car and remove the wheel.
2. Place a jack under the spring link. Press up at the rear.
3. Remove the damper's lower retaining bolt.
4. Lower the spring link and remove the jack.
5. Insert a pry bar in the damper mounting and carefully lever the spring link downwards. Remove the coil spring.


To fit





1. Press the spring link down and position the coil spring with spring support on it.

IMPORTANT: The marking on the coil spring should face rearwards.

2. Place a jack under the spring link.
3. Raise the spring link and screw in the retaining bolt for the lower damper mounting. Tighten the bolt, using a torque wrench.
Tightening torque 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.)
4. Remove the jack and fit the wheel.
5. Lower the car to the floor and tighten the wheel bolts, using a torque wrench.
Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.)
Lower the car to the floor.
