To remove





1. Open the hood. Suspend the engine using lifting beam 83 93 977 and feet to lifting beam 83 94 769.
2. Raise the car.
3. Remove the two front cover panels.





4. Detach the exhaust pipe at the turbo or exhaust manifold.
5. Remove the exhaust pipe at the joint.
6. Place a stand under the subframe.





7. Slacken the two front subframe retaining bolts slightly.
8. Remove the four retaining bolts and the two retaining nuts at the rear of the subframe.
9. Lower the subframe at the rear.
10. Unscrew the two nuts securing the anti-roll bar.
11. Remove the anti-roll bar's two retaining clamps. Remove the anti-roll bar.


To fit
1. Lubricate the bushes with Molycote or other grease of similar type.
2. Position the anti-roll bar on the subframe.





3. Fit the rubber bushes on left-hand and right-hand sides.
4. Position the retaining clamps and screw the bolts in place finger-tight.
5. Fit the rubber bushes and retaining nuts for the anti-roll bar links.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
6. Tighten the retaining bolts for the anti-roll bar clamps.
Tightening torque: 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.)
7. Raise the subframe at the rear and fit the four retaining bolts and two retaining nuts. The washers on the rear retaining bolts should abut against the body.
Tightening torques:
Rear mounting to subframe: 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) + 75 deg.
Centre mounting to subframe: 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.)
8. Tighten the front retaining bolts.
Tightening torque: 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.)





9. Fit the clamp at the exhaust pipe joint. Attach the exhaust pipe to the turbo or exhaust manifold and bolt it in place,
10. Fit the two front cover panels.





11. Lower the car to the floor and remove the lifting beam.
