Radius Arm: Service and Repair


To remove
1. Raise the car and remove the wheel.





2. Loosen the anti-roll bar nut.
3. Loosen the ball joint nut. Press out the ball joint with puller 89 96 696.
4. Loosen the bolt securing the stanchion to the suspension arm.
5. Unscrew the bolt to the stanchion mounting in the subframe.
6. Remove the stanchion. Use a crowbar.


To fit





1. Position the new stanchion and tighten the bolt to the stanchion mounting in the subframe.
Tightening torques: 110 Nm + 75° (81 ft. lbs. + 75°)
2. Fit the bolt securing the stanchion to the suspension arm and tighten it.
Tightening torque: 92 Nm (68 ft. lbs.).
3. Press the ball joint into position and fit the nut on the ball joint.
Tightening torque: 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
4. Tighten the anti-roll bar nut.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.4 ft. lbs.).
5. Fit the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts.
Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower the car.
