Front Steering Knuckle: Description and Operation
Steering swivel member
The steering swivel member constitutes the frame for the wheel bearing arrangement and comprises a bearing housing integrated in the MacPherson strut and a ball joint mounting.
The bearing arrangement is double-row angular contact bearing pressed into the steering swivel member and secured with two circlips on the outside of the bearing.
The scrub radius is negative, i.e. the imaginary swivel-axis line meets the ground outside the wheel center.
