Prepared Towing Installation

A wiring harness is pre-fitted for the installation of a tow hook. An 8-pin connector 258 is provided under the LH rear light. The following feeds pass through the connector:

Pin 1 Brake light (from brake-light switch 29 via fuse B)
Pin 2 RH parking light
Pin 3 LH direction indicators (from DICE)
Pin 4 RH direction indicators (from DICE)
Pin 5 Rear fog lights
Pin 6 LH parking light
Pin 7 -
Pin 8 Rear fog lights (for monitoring unit, from DICE)

Between pins 5 and 8 there is a jumper that must be removed if a "check unit" for rear fog lights is being fitted.

Fault diagnosis hints
1 Check the electric contacts at the electric connection of the trailer hitch which is at risk of oxidation.
2 Check that there is a voltage on the relevant connection in the connector 258.
3 Check fuses and wiring harnesses.
