Checking the Operation of the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

Checking The Operation Of The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

If the pressure sensor does not supply the correct current across the entire pressure range, this could give rise to driveability problems.

If the pressure sensor does not supply the correct current across the entire pressure range, this could give rise to driveability problems.

- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Test value:

Intake Pressure
The reading obtained should be 102 kPa (NOTE: this reading is dependent on ambient air pressure). First build up a pressure of 0.6 bar and then a vacuum of -0.6 bar. Use a pressure gauge and pressure/vacuum pump. The reading obtained should be 160 ±5 kPa (may be somewhat lower if measured at high)

Is the function correct?

NO - Changing Components

YES - Checking For Leakage
