Checking the Coolant Temperature
Checking The Coolant Temperature
- Cold-starting and warming-up trouble may be caused by the coolant temperature sensor indicating excessive engine temperature.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Contact Trionic 5 OBDII.
- Test value:
Coolant Temperature
- Note the temperature
- Contact Main instrument unit.
- Test value:
Coolant Temperature
The difference between the two readings may be 5 C (9 F) due to permissible tolerances.
If the reference ground from crimp J31 to Trionic control module pin 66 is absent, the Trionic will indicate a coolant temperature that is about 20 C (36 F) too high even if the temperature sensor is in perfect working order.
