Checking The Operation Of The Idle Speed Control
- Remove the airflow restriction
- Idling speed should increase markedly and then stabilize at about 900 rpm after 10-20 seconds.
Is the function correct?
NO - Continue With Checking The Operation Of The Idle Speed Control
YES - Choice of Gearbox
- Detach the valve's air hoses.
- Remove the idle speed control valve.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Contact Trionic 5 OBDII.
- Activate:
IAC Valve
- Check visually that the slide rotates without displaying any tendency to bind.
Is the function correct?
NO - Changing Components
YES - Continue With Checking The Operation Of The Idle Speed Control
- Visually check the valve's electrical connections.
If necessary, clean and grease the contacts/connectors.
- Check to see whether the symptoms persist.
Do dips in engine rpm still occur?
NO - Continue With Checking The Operation Of The Idle Speed Control
YES - Choice of Gearbox
