Limp-Home Solenoid




To remove
1 Remove the engine cover.







2 Remove the cover on the throttle body pedal arm.
3 Remove the rubber seal and unplug the connector.
4 Undo the lower screw (can be difficult to get at) with a magnetic T15 bit.
5 Remove the upper screw.
6 Remove the solenoid. (not available as spare part)

To fit







1 Fit the solenoid.
2 Screw in the upper screw.
3 Tighten the lower screw (it can be difficult to reach) using a magnetic T15 bit.
4 Spray the connector with Kontakt 61 (part no. 30 04 520). Plug in the connector and fit the rubber seal.
5 Fit the cover on the throttle body pedal arm.


IMPORTANT
When the limp-home solenoid is removed the throttle body goes into the mechanical limp-home mode. Therefore, after fitting, the limp-home mechanism must be reset in accordance with Resetting triggered limp-home solenoid.

6 Put the engine cover in place.
