Fuel Injection - I
The fuel injection for Motronic 2.10.3 is sequential, which means that the injection follows the engines firing order.
Injection times are controlled by a control module using a large number of parameters:
- engine load (mass air flow sensor)
- engine speed (crankshaft position sensor)
- engine temperature
- oxygen sensor
- etc.
Injection timing can vary, so that for instance on a cold start fuel injection can be done with open inlet valves. The length of time the injectors can be open varies from approx. 3 ms when idling to approx. 15 ms when fully loaded.
