Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair


1. Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid reservoir and fill with brake fluid.





2. Connect the filler cap (included in the brake bleeding kit 88 19 096) to the brake fluid reservoir. Place a hose with one end in the filler cap and the other in a container of fresh brake fluid.





3. Raise the car. Connect the brake bleeder hose to the LH front wheel and open the nipple. Drain approximately 0.1 L brake fluid.
4. Transfer the brake bleeder to the RH front wheel and open the nipple. Drain approximately 0.1 L brake fluid.
5. Transfer the brake bleeder to the LH rear wheel and open the nipple. Drain approximately 0.05 L brake fluid.
6. Transfer the brake bleeder to the RH rear wheel and open the nipple. Drain approximately 0.05 L brake fluid.
7. Lower the car to the floor.
8. Check the function of the brakes. Depress the brake pedal and make sure it does not creep.
9. Remove the filler funnel, hose and bottle.
10. Adjust the brake fluid level.
