Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair




To remove







1 Remove the strip above the rear window (inside the car).
2 Remove the two rubber plugs.
3 Unscrew the nuts holding the brake light.







4 Separate the connector.
5 Press the cover down.
6 Use a plastic spatula (or a screwdriver covered with tape) on the right of the rear window washer nozzle and carefully prise the brake light.
7 Repeat this operation on the left side.
8 Lift up the lamp and put out the electrical lead.
9 Replace the unit.


To fit







1 Put the electrical lead back again and put the lamp unit back.
2 Take the lead out on the inside of the cover.
3 Fit the brake light unit in position.
4 Fit the lamp holder.
5 Lift the cover.
6 Tighten the nuts that hold the brake light.
7 Put back the two rubber plugs.







8 Put the strip back again above the rear window (inside the car).
