Fault symptoms
Odometer or trip meter inaccurate.

Diagnostic help
Current odometer and trip meter readings can be obtained with the diagnostic tool.
The diagnostic tool can activate the odometer and trip meter so that the display is full of 8s. When all the display segments are lit, they can easily be checked.

Check the wiring harness
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool during the test.

Diagnostic procedure

1. Test the odometer and trip meter
- Contact Main instrument unit.






- Activate: Odometer (ON).
- All segments should light up.






Is the function correct?
YES
- Go to step 3.
NO
- Go to step 2.

2. Check the bulb
- Check the bulb in the instrument.






Is the function correct?
YES
- Replace the display unit.
- Go to step 3.
NO
- Change the bulb.
- Go to step 3.

3. Final check
- Clear the diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.






- Perform a functional test.






Is the function correct?
YES
- The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
