Main Beam Indicator Lamp
Fault symptoms
The main beam indicator lamp is inoperative.
Diagnostic help
The lamp is grounded in the main instrument unit and supplied with current from main beam fuse 8.
Check the wiring harness
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool during the test.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Checking the lamp
- Unplug connector: Main instrument unit's 20-pin connector: (540).
- Connect a test lamp to pin 15 of MIU K20 and a good ground.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn on the main beams.
- The test lamp should light up.
Is the function correct?
YES
- Change Main beam indicator lamp.
- Go to step 2.
NO
- Repair or replace the lead between pin 15 of the 20-pin MIU connector and fuse 8 in the engine bay's main fuse box.
- Go to step 2.
2. Final check
- Clear the diagnostic trouble codes in all systems.
- Perform a functional test.

YES
- The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
