Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

Anti-Freeze Sensor

The anti-freeze sensor is located on the evaporator outlet pipe and is connected to the central control electronics (DICE). The control module is programmed for compressor cut-out when the temperature drops below +3 °C. When the temperature increases and exceeds +5 °C, the compressor cuts in again. In this manner, freezing and formation of ice on the evaporator is prevented.

Diagnosis
If diagnostic trouble code B2355 is generated in DICE for the anti-freeze sensor, the A/C compressor will not cut-in/cut-out.
