Colour code
The following colour codes are used in the wiring diagrams of the manual. They are sometimes used in combination with one another, e.g., BU/RD, GY/WH. The colour that is presented first is the dominant colour, that is, the one whose colour predominates on the surface of the lead.

Abbreviations
Components are designated by a serial number and one or more supplementary letters that indicate their location and type. The location is indicated by upper-case letters, e.g., 298FL, while the type is indicated by lower-case letters, e.g., 47a. The following abbreviations are used to indicate position:
C = Centre
D = Driver
F = Front
H = Hatch (boot)
P = Passenger
R = Rear
LH = Left Hand side
RH = Right Hand
