Initial Inspection

Before changing a control module

Experience has shown that the majority of control modules returned under the warranty repairs scheme are sound. This means that, although the control module has been replaced, the fault has not been rectified. Always, therefore, check the following before replacing a control module:
1. Check all ground points and the power supply to the control module.
2. Check using the diagnostic tool that all readings are plausible.
3. Check using the diagnostic tool that all activated functions are working.

4. If the fault persists, replace the hydraulic unit complete with control module.
5. Always ground yourself, e.g. on the engine block, before touching the control module and avoid touching the terminal pins.
The control module must not be replaced separately. If the control module is found to be faulty, the complete unit must be replaced.
