Noise From The Swivelling Covers On The Soft Top Cover

Fault symptoms
Noise from the swivelling covers on the soft top cover

Cars concerned:
- 7025068-, see procedure 1
- -X7025067, see procedure 2

Cause: Loose or missing spacer.

Procedure 1
Fit a U-profile, part no. 75 35 487.use Loctite 406

1. Manoeuvre the soft top so that the soft top cover is open.
2. Apply Loctite 406 to the ribbing on the swivelling covers on the soft top cover.
3. Fit the U-profile to the ribbing on the swivelling covers on the soft top cover.







Procedure 2
Fit spacer, part no. 69 92 028.

1. Manoeuvre the soft top so that the soft top cover is open.
2. Remove the spacer adhesive. Grind the opposite side.
3. Grind the adhesion surface of the swivelling covers on the soft top cover.
4. Apply Loctite 406 on the ground side of the spacer. Fit the spacer as shown in the illustration.







5. Check that the noise no longer occurs.
