Before Changing A Control Module
Before Changing A Control Module
After having performed all the procedures for the corresponding diagnostic trouble code or for the separate function checks without finding any faults, it is reasonable to suspect a malfunction in the control module.
Considering that the control module is a component of extremely high quality and is very expensive, it is important to confirm the diagnosis as precisely as possible.
Therefore, carefully work through the following steps before definitely deciding that the STC control module is the cause of the malfunction.
1 Check once again that all the points in the corresponding fault diagnosis procedure have been performed correctly.
2 Study the wiring diagram for the corresponding circuit and make sure you are aware of its function. Use the corresponding sections in the description of operation and the description of the electrical operation in Service Manual 3:2 Wiring diagrams.
3 Make sure that the control module ground connections and the corresponding grounding points are correctly grounded.
4 Check the power supply to the control module.
5 If the original problem persists, the STC control module must be replaced. Before replacing the control module, note the number of soft top cycles.
