Power Trunk / Liftgate Lock Actuator: Service and Repair

To Remove

Lock Motor, Tailgate:

1 Open the tailgate.
2 Remove the tailgate trim (5 clips, 4 bolts).
3 Remove the retainer bolts that secure the lock motor.
4 Remove the expansion rivet that secures the plastic hinge to the tailgate by slightly pressing in the expander pin and pull out the rivet completely.
5 Carefully pull out the lock motor and turn the motor to remove it from the plastic hinge.

To Fit







1 Hook the lock motor onto the plastic hinge and turn in the motor to its original position.
2 Fit the expander rivet that secures the plastic hinge to the tailgate.
3 Tighten the bolts for the lock motor.
4 Fit the tailgate trim.
