Tailgate/Bootlid

Tailgate/bootlid

The tailgate/bootlid has two gas springs. The gas springs are located on either side of the luggage compartment and are attached to ball pins in the body and tailgate/bootlid.

The tailgate/bootlid can be unlocked with the key, remote control or the switch on the driver's door, see Central locking system operation, tailgate/bootlid. If the tailgate/bootlid is not opened within a predetermined period of time, it is automatically locked. In other words, it is normally locked. The tailgate is opened using a centrally-placed handle (not Convertible).
