Checking The Electrical Interface For Oxygen Sensor 1
Unplug the connector:
- Heated oxygen sensor 1 OBDII (592Fa)
- Connect the positive pole of a 1.5 V battery to pin 4 of the oxygen sensor's female connector and the negative pole to pin 3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Contact Trionic 5 OBDII.
Reading: O2S 1
The reading should be: 1.4 V
Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and m different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
Is the function correct?
NO -
YES - Continue With Checking The Electrical Interface For Oxygen Sensor 1
- Check the fuel pressure, pressure drop and flow rate.
- Check that the EVAP canister purge valve closes under no-current conditions.
- Check that no air leakage occurs in the exhaust system ahead of oxygen sensor 1 or its mounting.
Is the function correct?
NO - Continue With Checking The Electrical Interface For Oxygen Sensor 1
YES -
- Rectify the fault.
