- Clear diagnostic trouble codes
- Carry out a drive cycle:
- Drive the car at varying engine loads and rpm until the coolant temperature reaches 60 C (140 F), but for at least 1 minute anyway.
- Vehicle speed should exceed 20 km/h at some time during the test.
- Stop the car, apply the handbrake and run the engine at idling speed.







- Switch off the A/C and all items of electrical equipment. If the car has automatic transmission - select P.
Allow the engine to run for about 10 minutes to stabilize idling speed.







- Switch off the A/C and all items of electrical equipment. If the car has automatic transmission - select D.
Allow the engine to run for about 10 minutes to stabilize idling speed.


Evaluation of driving cycle
- Obtain readouts of the diagnostic trouble codes.

Has the diagnostic trouble code in question recurred?

NO - The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.

YES - The fault persists
