EVAP Purge Valve





Fault symptoms
CHECK ENGINE lamp on. Possible other diagnostic trouble codes (closed loop, misfiring).

Conditions
EVAP canister purge valve active
P0444: Open circuit for longer than 2 sec.
P0445: Short circuit to ground for longer than 2 sec.







Diagnostic help
The EVAP purge valve can be read with the diagnostic tool.
- Select "ACTIVATE".
- Select "EVAP VALVE".

The valve is activated for 10 sec. at 8 Hz 50%. The valve will click when activated.

Checking the wiring harness. Intermittent faults may occur in connection with short circuits and open circuits. Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in several directions to locate any problems in the wiring, including intermediate connectors. Observe the multimeter, scan tool or test lamp during the check.
