- Carry out a drive cycle:
- Drive the car at varying engine loads and rpm until the coolant temperature reaches 60 C (140 F), but for at least 5 minutes anyway.
- Drive the car with a steady throttle opening at 40-90 km/h for 4 minutes (select a gear at which engine speed is 2000-3000 rpm). Since changes in throttle opening should be avoided, drive the car on as level a stretch of road as possible.
