Checking Oxygen Sensor Preheating Element Resistance












- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position

Wait 5 minutes
Unplug the connector:
- Heated oxygen sensor 1 OBDII (592Fa)







Unplug the connector:
- Heated oxygen sensor 2 OBDII (592Ra)







Take a resistance reading between

1 - Heated oxygen sensor 1 OBDII
2 - Heated oxygen sensor 1 OBDII

The reading should be 1.8 Ohm - 4 Ohm

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this

Is the function correct?

NO -

YES - Continue With Checking Oxygen Sensor Preheating Element Resistance







Take a resistance reading between

1 - Heated oxygen sensor 2 OBDII
2 - Heated oxygen sensor 2 OBDII

The reading should be 1.8 Ohm - 4 Ohm

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this

Is the function correct?

NO -

YES -
