Check the Control Module's Coolant Temperature Sensor Input












- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.







- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.







- Contact Trionic 5 OBDII.

Reading: Coolant Temperature
The reading should be -45 °C to -35 °C

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.

Is the reading correct?

NO
-

YES - Continue With Check the Control Module's Coolant Temperature Sensor Input












- Connect a jumper lead between pins 1 and 2 of the female connector.







Reading: Coolant Temperature
The reading should be 125 °C to 130 °C

Checking the wiring harness.
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at several places and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short circuits in the wiring harness. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
