Coolant temperature sensor, Input to control module low/high, faulty, break or short circuit to ground/Batt+
Fault symptoms
CHECK ENGINE lamp comes on, difficult on cold starts
Conditions
Voltage less then 0.03 Volt or greater then 4.96 Volts or irregular rises in temperature after starting in relation to the programmed model that can be found in the control module's permanent memory.
NOTE: If there is a decline in function the control module chooses a pre-programmed value corresponding to 80 °C (176 °F), which means the car can be difficult to start when the engine is cold due to the fuel/air mixture being too lean.
