Action
1. Checking the coil spring (contact roller)
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Undo the connector: Control Module Airbag:(331)
- Connect a break-out box (BOB) to the mains.
- Undo the connector: Airbag, Driver: (333D)
- Check that the connection of the coil spring (contact roller) is in good order.
- Connect the reference resistor 86 12 095 to the 2-pin connector
- Undo the connector: Coil spring (contact roller),steering wheel:(336a)
- Check that the coil spring's orange 3-pin connector is in perfect condition.
- Select the trouble code that has been generated
B1332, B1333
- Go to step 2.
B2332, B2333
- Go to step 4.
2. Checking the coil spring (contact roller)
- Connect the coil spring's 3-pin connector.
- Measure resistance on the back of the connector.
- Red feed cable: Coil spring (contact roller), steering wheel:1
- Black feed cable: Coil spring (contact roller), steering wheel:3
- The value should be 2 - 4 ohms

- Go to step 8.
4. Checking the coil spring (contact roller)
- Take a resistance reading
- Red feed cable: Coil spring (contact roller), steering wheel:1
- Black test lead: Car battery: B-.
- Try to touch off the fault by turning the steering wheel.
- The resistance should be infinite (O.L.).
Test results OK?
YES
- Go to step 5.
NO
- Change: Coil spring (contact roller), steering wheel
- Go to step 8.
5. Checking the coil spring (contact roller)
