SID Buttons, Malfunction:

Fault symptoms
SID unit buttons do not work.

Conditions
Button on SID unit held down for more than 5 minutes.

Diagnostic help
The buttons on the SID unit can be read using a special Tech 2 command. Tech 2 shows which button is pressed in. A button may have stuck.

Check wiring harness.
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the leads.

Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic instrument during the test.
