Winter Mode Indicator Lamp

WINTER INDICATOR LAMP
When the WINTER gear shifting program is activated, the WINTER indicator lamp in the main instrument comes on.

The lamp is grounded by the TCM via pin 7 and is powered via the main instrument.

To facilitate starting on slippery road surfaces, the TCM transmission has a WINTER mode, i.e. the car starts in 3rd gear when the WINTER button (snowflake) on the selector lever is pressed.

The WINTER mode will be disengaged by pressing the WINTER button once again, switching off the ignition, when in limp-home mode or if speed exceeds about 80 km/h

The lamp is supplied with current in the main instrument display panel and connected to ground by the TCM control module via pin 6 (12p-1) of the main instrument display panel.

When the ignition is switched on the lamp is tested for about 3 seconds. if no fault is detected the lamp will go out.
